Dentists have a hot new ad option from Google and it only costs $25 a month!

Google recently changed the name of it’s Local Business Center to Google Places and they have continually been rolling new features. One of the most exciting new features just launched nationally today, after being available in beta in just a few cities.

Google TAGS make your local Google Places listing on Google Maps stand out from your competition and it only costs $25 a month. Tags can be used to highlight a particular aspect of your practice such as coupons, videos or your website. SEE IMPORTANT INFO BELOW the screen shot! (Click image for live search result.)

Google Places Tags Dental

I was trying to find a better example for how I would recommend Cosmetic Dentists use the new Tags advertising option. I searched NUMEROUS cities and that was the only Dentist I could find using Tags and he’s using a discount coupon option, which is certainly one strategy to capture new patient’s attention. But you can also link to your website or a video.

If I were a Cosmetic Dentist I would try linking to my “before and after” cosmetic dentistry video using a caption like “See what a Difference a New Smile can make!

It’s important to realize though that “Tags” do not affect the rank of the Google LOCAL search results, they simply add more information and make your listing stand out from the other Dentists that are listed. If your Google Places listing does not come up on top of page 1 where people can find it, then Tags may not help much. But if you are lucky enough to be in the “Lucky 7″ spot at the top of Google next to the map, for your keyword + city, then Tags for $25 is a super low cost advertising investment and the perfect way to make your local listing stand out!
